Yes, toast the bread!

Toast two slices of white bread and spread butter onto one warm slice.

Then slice the tomato and place it on the toast. Sprinkle the tomato with garlic salt.

Don't add pepper or mayonnaise to the other slice of toast. Just place the second piece of toast over the tomato.

Heaven sent ... the sandwich actually has a cheese flavor, though no cheese is used.
