Will hog wire work to support tomatoes?

by Doug
(northeast Texas)

Is there anything wrong with using hog wire for staking? Here are pictures of how I have it set up.

Tomato Dirt responds:
Your hog wire system looks great! Any kind of solid support helps tomatoes stay off the ground, away from pests and diseases, and have backbone to handle their weight. Good thinking!

I use cement mesh, 6" squares, a little tough to cut and bend but very sturdy and strong.
