Starting Tomatoes Early

This year I started my tomato plants outdoors earlier than normal. Actually they were planted inside a hot box made from old window sashes in early March. I didn't remove the windows until around April 15 when I had to place my cages around the plants and could no longer close the top of the box. At this writing, May 16, they are now approximately 50" tall and have baseball and larger tomatoes.
