Help for blossom end rot & drought in tomatoes

by Lori Dawn
(Oklahoma)

Here a couple of ways to prevent blossom end rot in your tomato plants and at the same time, help boost plants during drought.

  1. Mix 1 tablespoon each of sugar and epsom salts into soil at planting.
  2. As you plant, remove lower leaves.
  3. Set the plant deeper in the soil than it was in its in starter pot. You'll bury part of the stem. This prevents plant from being so leggy.
